finally, im done reading The Chamber. a 676-page novel by John Grisham.
I started last week i guess, and normally, I should be done w/in 3-4 days ( not fulltym reading, of course I have to work ), but it did take a while because I also started to watch "Full House", a Koreanovela series. its a 16-episode DVD and each episode runs for approx 45min to 1 hour. its really funny eventhough its very tiring to read the subtitles. and mind you eventhough the its in korean language its a must to turn on the speaker volume eventhough I cannot undestands any words ecept their names and of course "FIGHTING" i spent at least 2-3 hours per day watching and finally I was able to finish the whole series.
I guess it will take me a year to finish all the 12 DVDs that my officemate Jerick purchased for me. it was he who introduced me to this new hobby. hehehe! thans jerick!
and since its my off today, it’ll be a new koreanovela. probably "The Prince Who Turns into a Frog" ( Frog Prince in the previouss GMA series ). hahaha! and of course another novel, pro’ly Dust to Dust by Tami Hoag.

THE CHAMBER
The Chamber (1994) is a legal/suspense novel by noted American author John Grisham. It features a discussion about capital punishment. Set around the Mississippi State Penitentiary, it is the story of an old man and former Klansman named Sam Cayhall who is convicted of murder and sentenced to death by gas chamber twenty years after his bombing of a Jewish lawyer’s office.
His paternal grandson, Adam Hall, whose father had his family’s name changed because of the disgraceful family history, journeys south from Chicago to represent Sam in the final month before the date of execution. Adam decided to become a lawyer soon after his father, Eddie Cayhall, committed uicide on the day that Sam was convicted of murder in Mississippi. Adam is determined to argue a stay for his grandfather, in spite of Sam’s violent past, because Sam is one of the few living links to his family’s history. It transpires that Sam did not in fact commit the actual crime for which he’s been found guilty, but has instead a long and largely secret history of the Klan-related crime. As Adam desperately argues motion after motion, the story moves to its last gory moments.
The novel combines elements of legal commentary and suspense to fully illustrate the complications surrounding various legal issues, such as the death penalty and racism.
In 1996, The Chamber was made into a movie starring Gene Hackman and Chris O’Donnell.

FULL HOUSE
Synopsis
This drama attempts to answer the question of whether two people — a famous actor and an ordinary woman — can learn to love each other in a marriage agreed only on paper. It also explores the meaning of the family by presenting that no matter how hard the present may seem, the world is still a good place because of those who bring hopes into our lives through their presence alone.
This drama features diverse characters: considerate, caring, frank, patient, and sticking to life’s basic values. But no matter how different the personalities, everyone finds happiness in the end.
This drama is based upon a manhwa of the same title, Full House by the Korean cartoonist Won Sooyeon.
Storyline
A naive, cheerful, albeit somewhat reclusive writer, Ji Eun is swindled out of everything she owns — not by strangers, but her best friends! Stranded in another country, she is determined to get home, only to find that all which is precious to her has been sold. In an attempt to get her possessions back, she has to "sell her soul." A story about love and heartbreak, sadness and self-preservation. In spite of it all, Ji Eun manages to be humorous and endearing - even when her heart is breaking.

Although Young-Jae always behaves and speaks as he wants, he does that only to protect himself from being hurt and not to hurt others. People think of him as a very candid person, but that is also Young-Jae’s strategy to hide himself – or rather his failure to express himself to the fullest. As one who is unaccustomed to being frank and open, Young-jae is bad at making friends and very proud of his ideals and principles. He deeply loves his childhood friend, Hye-Won, even though she shows him no affection. One day, he stumbles upon Ji-Eun and slowly falls in love with her.
Kang Hye-Won (Lorraine Kang) ~ Han Eun Jung

Yoo Min-Hyuk (Luigi Yoo) ~ Kim Sung Soo
Min-Hyuk is a director of a large media company. He dreams of establishing Asia’s Walt Disney or Fox. He is tenacious and smart, and respected and recognized for his skills. He is confident in earning trust from people. He has always been a winner, and is determined to remain one for the rest of his life. He possesses sophisticated manners and is very eloquent – a Prince Charming that any girl could dream of. Min-Hyuk believes that life is too short to live it without fun. Unlike his seemingly unrestricted personality, he is very composed and prudent. He can’t stand losing and has a strong desire to win in everything, which probably explains his successful career. Hye-Won loves him though he rejects her instantly saying that she’s like a sister to him. Known to be a player, he is changed when he meets Ji-Eun and realizes that she is something special.
Filming location
Full House was filmed in the Gwangyeok-si area of Incheon. Located near Incheon International Airport, it’s a ten-minute boat ride from Sammok Harbor to this quiet, seashore getaway. Unlike other filming locations in Korea, this is an actual house. Made mostly of wood, this house, which is a private-owned vacation house, cost approximately one million US dollars to build. The beachfront property looks out onto open waters, with elegant views that could be used on any postcard. Many fans of the miniseries make a pilgrimage to this now famous home. Nearby sightseeing locations include Jogak (sculpture) Park on Modo Island; a bridge connects these two islands.
The island on which Full House is located in is called Shin-do or Si-Do island. It is about a 10 to 20 minute taxi ride from Incheon airport to the ferry from Sammock Harbour to Shin-Do Island. The ferry leaves every hour on the half hour. When you get off the ferry, there is a bus to Full House which costs only 1,000 won. After the bus, it is about 1.5 kilometers further to Full House. To get inside Full House, you have to pay 3,000 won. You then have to walk back again to the bus stop and this time wait for the bus to arrive. At harbour, you pay to get back to the mainland and then walk to the bus stop to get back to Incheon airport where you have to transfer to an airport shuttle bus (free of charge). Come early because waiting for the transportation to come and pick you up to where you want to go takes time.
